Instructions and Safety
Important: Please read these instructions before using your IBC Quick Cover. This product is designed to help protect the contents of open-top Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) from rain, sunlight, dust and debris when correctly installed.
It is not a guarantee against water or dust ingress, damage to contents, or loss. The user is responsible for ensuring the product is suitable for their intended application and for using it safely.
Safety Warning Label
Your IBC Quick Cover is fitted with a safety warning label attached to the elastic cord. Read and follow the safety warning below before fitting or removing the cover.
WARNING
Rebounding hooks cause blindness. Place hooks with care. Keep face and body out of rebound path.
DO NOT Overstretch.
DO NOT use when strap has visible signs of wear or damage.
Do not remove, cover, alter or deface the warning label. It forms part of the product's required safety information and must remain attached and legible at all times.
Intended Use
IBC Quick Covers are designed for use on compatible open-top IBC containers to provide protection from weather and environmental debris.
This product is not designed or certified for load bearing, supporting the weight of people or equipment, lifting, load restraint, fall protection, or any purpose other than covering a compatible IBC.
Before Use
- Inspect the cover, elastic cord and hooks before each use.
- Do not use the cover if the fabric, stitching, cord or hooks are damaged or excessively worn.
- Ensure the top of the IBC is clean and free from sharp edges that could damage the cover.
- Confirm the cover is the correct size for your IBC.
Installation
- Place the cover over the top of the IBC with the opening correctly aligned.
- Pull the cover down evenly over all sides.
- Attach each hook securely to the IBC cage.
- Check that the cover fits evenly and is held firmly in place.
- Ensure all hooks are securely attached and the cord is evenly tensioned before leaving the cover unattended.
Adjusting Cord Tension (if required)
Your IBC Quick Cover is supplied with an elastic cord secured by an overhand knot at one corner. If a tighter fit is required, the cord length can be adjusted by untying the knot, shortening the cord, and retying a secure overhand knot. Check that the knot is firmly tied before use. Do not overtighten the cord or overstretch the elastic.
Safety Information
⚠ Warning – Elastic Cord Hazard
Elastic cords are under tension and can recoil unexpectedly if released or if a hook becomes detached. Serious eye or facial injuries may result.
- Keep your face and body clear when fitting or removing the cover.
- Ensure each hook is securely attached before use.
- Do not overstretch the elastic cord.
- Do not use the cover if the cord or hooks are damaged.
- Wear suitable eye protection where appropriate.
Safe Use
- Inspect the cover regularly while in use.
- Re-secure the cover if it becomes loose.
- Remove excessive water, debris or other heavy build-up where practical.
- Replace the cover if it becomes damaged or excessively worn.
- Always follow applicable workplace health and safety requirements.
Do Not
- Use as a lifting sling or hoisting device.
- Use as a load restraint device.
- Stand, sit or climb on the cover.
- Use as fall protection or personal safety equipment.
- Allow children to play with the cover.
- Expose the cover to open flames, sparks or prolonged contact with hot surfaces.
- Modify or repair the cover in a way that may affect its performance.
- Continue using the cover if any part of the cover, cord or hooks is damaged.
Care & Maintenance
- Clean with mild soap and water only.
- Do not use solvents, bleach or abrasive cleaners.
- Allow the cover to dry completely before storage.
- Store in a cool, dry location when not in use.
- Inspect regularly and replace the cover if significant wear is evident.
